The display of fresh flowers, whose lives alas are so fleeting, it is a short, logical step to arranging dried flowers. These like today’s house plants, also play a new role. With plants, dried flowers share the estimable quality of remaining lovely for long periods in warm interiors- in rooms which often are responsible for cut flowers maturing and so fading, too quickly. Central heating calls for its own kind of decoration.

Dried Flowers forever
Dried flowers can look as attractive as any other kind. Gone is the Victorian dust-trapping bird’s nest type of bouquet of immortelles and grasses and in its place we can have both modern and classically styled flower arrangements, montage and all kinds of decorative designs, if these are required. In these, the old favorite flowers are combined with a wealth of new ‘perpetuelles’ now drawn from all parts of the globe and on sale everywhere. Dried flowers are delightful complements to green, living plants and they can stand between a house plant and some source of dry heat, an attractive but effective barrier, protecting the plant in a convenient manner since so many house plants need a humid atmosphere.
