Decoration with growing plants has always been popular and although we sometime read of ‘contemporary’ plants, the pot plant in the home is no recent introduction. It is the way that plants are used that has changed so tremendously during the past two decades. A plant is no longer an afterthought. Plants can be used both with and in lieu of furnishings. We can draw them into the general theme of home decoration. We can use them to our advantage in more ways than one, by mixing them, arranging them, by growing them and caring for them.
